Climate Change is a fact. There can be no denying that the weather has changed during the lifetime of most people who live in Henfield. Every year that passes temperature records are beaten and this year is no exception with the highest temperature ever recorded in England at 38.7°C in late July. The near continent has seen higher temperatures with Paris recording 42.4°C. The 10 hottest years in the UK since records began 150 years ago have occurred since 2002. So what is driving climate change and what can we in Henfield do about it?
Greta Thunberg has asked us all to act ‘As if our house is on fire’. In Henfield we want to take action as fast as possible to reverse the effects of climate change before 2030. To do this, we are working in four Action Groups:
