PLASTICS FREE HENFIELD
We live in a plastic world where we are addicted to avoidable single-use plastics. It’s an extraordinarily useful, versatile, cheap material. And it’s everywhere and it’s a growth industry, with one in every ten barrels of oil now used to create new plastic.
Together, we can make sure we kick our addiction to avoidable single-use plastic, and change the system that produces it. We can make sure we don’t choke our streets, parks and playgrounds with it. Because if it’s on our street today, then it’s in our rivers tomorrow, and our beaches and oceans forever.
We can only do all of this together and make Henfield a Plastics Free Community.
Repair Reuse Replace Recycle
On the second Saturday of every month we will be hosting a REPAIR CAFE at the Henfield Haven. This will be where people can come to meet and exchange repair, recycle items. We are linking with other Henfield groups, organisations and businesses to enable a market place for SUSTAINABILITY.
In particular we will be introducing the recycling of SINGLE USE PLASTICS. Not all types to start with but we will hope to expand the range is time. We are in the planning stage at present and will keep you posted through our website.
